ChenYRDr. Yun-Ru Ruby ChenCongratulations to Dr. Yun-Ru Ruby Chen for receiving the ADPD 2015 Junior Faculty Award. The award ceremony was held in March 18, 2015 in Nice France at the Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson disease (ADPD) conference.

The AD/PDTM Conference uniquely combines distinct neurodegenerative diseases in one setting and examine their similarities and differences. It has a strong focus in the mechanisms of disease, prevention and therapy.

Dr. Chen is a dedicated investigator in studying the mechanisms of incorrect protein folding which trigger various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and FTLD. Her latest finding in the full-length TDP-43 oligomer proved to be associated with AD and FTLD closely.

Out of the 20 recipients granted this award this year, Dr. Chen is one of the three scientists from the Asia pacific countries, the other two are from Australia. The event information can be read online at: http://www2.kenes.com/adpd/info/Pages/ADPD2014Awards.aspx
